After watching nsyncs' "merry christmas" song, i started to wonder why we only have food drives during the holiday season. Don't these people need to eat in april?? have you ever heard of the Easter bunny's food drive, or halloweens clothing drive??? no, you don't. It is as if we only pay attention to these needs when we are in the festive mood of the holidays, which is actually quite sad. This sounds silly for me to be arguing for this because i'm usually not a big proponent of excessive charity, but for heaven's sake, if i was a bum, i would like food other times than just december. In fact, i talked about taking a bum to a buffet last year, and i think i'm going to actually follow through with it this year. Anybody who'd like to join me, feel free. I'll even pick up the tab, it will be a party. Unless of course you're too scared. That is another thing, why must you lock your car door if a bum comes within 50 yards?? just because he/she doesn't have any money doesn't make them an automatic criminal.
